What is Cryotherapy?

Cryopen cryotherapy treatments involve the use of athe CyroPen device which emits a controlled flow of cryogenic gas, to freeze and remove unwanted skin lesions or imperfections. These treatments are used to address various dermatological concerns such as warts, skin tags, age spots, pigmentation issues, and small benign growths. The Cryopen device delivers precise and targeted freezing temperatures, destroying the targeted tissue while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy skin. The benefits of Cryopen treatments include quick and efficient removal of skin lesions with minimal discomfort, scarring, or downtime. The procedure is non-invasive, precise, and suitable for use on different body areas, providing an effective solution for improving the appearance and overall skin health.

Cryotherapy therapy process:

  1. Assessment: We assess the skin condition to determine whether cryotherapy is a suitable treatment option. Common conditions treated with Cryopen include warts, skin tags, actinic keratosis (precancerous skin lesions), solar lentigo (age spots), and certain types of skin cancers.

  2. Preparation: The skin around the lesion is cleaned thoroughly to ensure proper treatment and reduce the risk of infection.

  3. Application: The Cryopen device is held close to the skin lesion, and a controlled, high-pressure jet of liquid nitrogen is directed towards the area. The extreme cold causes rapid freezing of the targeted tissue, leading to cell destruction. The duration of application depends on the size and type of the lesion.

  4. Thawing: After freezing the lesion, the medical professional allows it to thaw, which may cause a mild stinging or burning sensation.

  5. Healing: Over the next few days or weeks, the treated area forms a scab, which eventually falls off, leaving behind new, healthy skin. Some lesions may require multiple cryotherapy sessions for complete removal or treatment.

Benefits of Cryotherapy:

  1. Warts and verrucas: Cryopen can effectively freeze and remove common warts, plantar warts (warts on the soles of the feet), and genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).

  2. Skin tags: Skin tags are small, benign growths that often appear in areas where skin rubs against skin. Cryopen can safely and easily remove skin tags without the need for sutures or anesthesia.

  3. Age spots: Also known as sunspots or liver spots, these are flat, brown patches that often appear on sun-exposed areas of the skin. Cryopen can target and eliminate age spots, leading to a more even skin tone.

  4. Pigmentation issues: Cryopen can help address hyperpigmentation concerns, including melasma, freckles, and dark spots caused by sun damage or hormonal changes.

  5. Small benign growths: Cryopen can be used to remove small benign skin growths such as seborrheic keratoses, dermatofibromas, and cherry angiomas.
